Emerging Artists' Exhibition
Two oil paintings selected for the Emerging Artists' Exhibition, hosted by the City of Cape Town.
The work
Both pieces are oil paintings I'd made over the past few years, part of a longer thread about the domestic scenes I grew up between: Cape Town and my grandmother's home in Kannami. Oils reward the slow, layered looking those memories seem to want.
The show
The exhibition ran at SA Sending-gestig Museum on Long Street, then at Iziko's Orientation Centre at Groot Constantia. It mattered to have these hung next to work by artists from all across the city.
