Emerging Artists' Exhibition
Two oil paintings selected for the Emerging Artists' Exhibition, hosted by the City of Cape Town.
The work
Both pieces are oil paintings about water, and about how we move through life the way we move through water: sometimes struggling against the current, sometimes trusting it to carry us where we need to go. Oils reward the slow, layered kind of looking those feelings seem to want.
The show
The exhibition ran at the SA Sending-gestig Museum on Long Street, then moved to Iziko's Orientation Centre at Groot Constantia. It mattered to have my work hung alongside artists from across the city.
